School Community Council

Who is the School Community Council, and what do they do? Every school is required to have a School Community Council (SCC). Ours will consist of the principal, another school employee, and four parents. These parents, who serve as SCC members, will represent parents' perspectives on issues and decisions made by the Council. This gives parents input on the school improvement plan and how the funds from the School LAND Trust Program will be spent. Two parents are elected to the SCC each year and serve two years at a time. The application process and election information will be provided before the election process begins each year. This council will meet approximately 4 times per year.

The first SCC meeting will be on September 23, 2026, at 4:30 pm in Heartland Elementary’s Faculty Lounge.
