Hello, My Name is Julia Gomez. I am the new Family Resource assistant. I was raised in San Diego California, West Jordan Utah and Tijuana B.C, Mexico. My mothers side of the family is from Guadalajara and Tijuana B.C, Mexico. My fathers side of the family is from California. I grew up in a single parent household. From 7th grade to 11th grade, I lived in the apartments next to Heartland. I went to West Jordan Middle and West Jordan High. I am married and have 3 children.

English is my first language and Spanish is my second. Growing up I was taught to help people that spoke Spanish and couldn't speak English. So everywhere I went I would find an opportunity to translate, fill out documents or find resources for someone. I still do it to this day.

I am a crossing guard before school starts and after my crossing I come to Heartland. I enjoy the work I do. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with everyone at Heartland and Heartland families.

I help pack the weekend food bags, provide clothing and shoes to students. I can also translate to Spanish. I also coordinate with families to help them with finding resources for food, medical, dental, vision, H.E.A.T. program, clothing, and any other way I can. Please feel free to contact me at (801) 565-7533 ext.13216 or email me at  julia.gomez@jordandistrict.org.
